Fishing licenses for fishing in Lake Zug can be purchased here. The license is only valid for the areas designated in the license and is not transferable to other persons.

Payment can be made using the usual digital payment methods (Mastercard, Visa, PostCard and Twint). Once payment has been made, you will receive your license by e-mail as a PDF or, if you use the Canton of Zug fishing app, directly in the app (please ensure that you use the same e-mail address for the purchase as on the app). You can also record your catches directly in the app and do not need to submit catch statistics on paper.

Gemäss Verordnung über die Fischerei vom 12. Dezember 1995 (BGS 933.211) § 20 Abs. 3 begründet die Verhinderung an der Ausübung der Fischerei keinen Anspruch auf Rückerstattung der bezahlten Gebühren.

You must be able to show the fishing license digitally or in paper form together with the proof of expertise (SANA) and an identity card at all times when fishing.

Wichtig:
Im Zugersee überschreiten Hecht und Egli die vom Bund festgelegten PFAS-Höchstwerte. Diese Fischarten dürfen daher ab sofort nicht mehr weitergegeben werden. Der Eigenverzehr bleibt erlaubt und liegt im Ermessen jeder Person. Gefangene Hechte und Eglis sind fachgerecht zu entsorgen, entweder über die gemeindlichen Kadaversammelstellen oder im Haushaltsabfall (nicht im Kompost). 

Gemäss Kantonsratsbeschluss vom 26. März 2026 werden die Patentgebühren aufgrund der PFAS-Höchstwertüberschreitungen von Fischarten bis Ende 2028 reduziert.
